Battered Women's Shelter — Kamëz

A shelter near Tiranë that had served Albanian women for years — but had no working kitchen — fully repaired and re-equipped.

Battered Women's Shelter — Kamëz

Battered Women's Shelter – Kamëz, Albania, The Albanian Faith in Every Footsteps Foundation in conjunction with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint Humanitarian completed the Women's Shelter project in June 2024. The Shelter in located in Kamëz, Albania, near Tiranë. The shelter has been serving Albanian for many years and has been in great need for repairs and upgrades. Prior to the project it did not even have a functioning kitchen or outside play area

The project included complete painting and repairs to all the living areas rooms, the class rooms and the dining hall. Electrical and lighting repairs were done throughout the building and the electrical service for the kitchen was upgraded. The kitchen was provided with all new refrigerators and cooking appliances. The outside play area courtyard was re-landscaped, painted and new playground equipment was installed.

Thank you to Justin Armenta and to all the missionaries and local church members who volunteered. The volunteers were incredible!
